Faculty Present at Ethics Conference

[image 1]On March 2, Charles Hinkley, Ph.D., of the NVC Philosophy department and NVC chair of Humanities, and Laura Cavicchi, LPC, of the NVC Psychology department, presented academic papers at the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics 22nd Annual Meeting in San Antonio.

With Prof. Deneece Ferrales of Tarleton State University, they co-presented “The Welfare of our Children: A Roundtable Discussion of Macro and Micro Issues Surrounding Ethical Treatment of and Practice with Children.”

Charles began the conversation with the paper “The Rights of Children and the Social Implications,” and Laura later followed with her paper “The Ethical Implications for Child Custody Evaluators in Reviewing Other Mental Health Professionals.”

The Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, with a membership approaching 1,000 spanning the entire United States and 11 foreign countries, brings together scholars and professionals in more than 50 different subspecialty areas of practical and applied ethics.
