Did you know . . .

that last fall, 1,033 students voluntarily enrolled and participated in the Orientation to Online Learning course? So far in the Spring 2013 semester, 924 students are enrolled in OLRN-0001 with another 300 or so anticipated in the Flex II section.

The interactive online course teaches students not only how to use online tools but also how to be successful online learners. For example, it features videos of students talking to students about time management, study skills, communicating with instructors, and dealing with frustrations along with one-on-one interaction with Adela Gonzales, our Distance Learning Program Specialist.

Did you know . . .

that almost 500 people have completed the Intro to Canvas course? NVC leads the way with faculty-centered, faculty-led training in the new learning management system. The Business & Government and Math academic areas were the first to boast 100 percent of their faculty had completed the training. Completion of the training is rewarded with a certificate and .8 CEUs.

Did you know . . .

  • that since the fall of 2010, the number of different courses offered fully online has grown from 71 to 87?
  • that in the same two years, the number of online sections has grown from 158 to 199?
  • that the entire core curriculum is now available fully online?
  • that the number of degree programs available completely online has grown from two to 8?
