[image 1]Employees were enthusiastic about generating support for NVC student scholarships and showed up for a fundraiser on Tues., Oct. 16 at Chili’s Grill & Bar.
The NVC partnership with Chili’s on Loop 1604 and Culebra Road was the first of many more to come. The fundraiser works by having employees dine in or order food to go throughout the day and 10 percent of sales are then donated to NVC scholarships.
Overall employees ate $700 worth of meals on that Tuesday from noon until 10 p.m.
[image 2]Chili’s Manager Jesse Ovalle generously donated an extra $30 to round up the donation to $100 to scholarships. He said typically these fundraisers start out small and become huge over time as the holidays approach.
The event also provided an opportunity for employee to interact with each other and engage with other teams outside of work. Many different areas of the college dined together at Chili’s, such as Student Activities, Public Relations, Information Technology, Student Success, Community Development and the Library.
