Jewel goes beyond her normal job duties. She sees a problem, studies and researches it, and comes up with a resolution that will benefit not only the faculty and students but the department as well. Her work ethics have provided positive results in the Science Prep Lab. The positive results transfer to our work-study students by making sure they are guided and trained effectively. Jewel also works consistently with Biology, Microbiology, Physics, Geology, & Genetics faculty to assure they have the supplies they need to do their classes. Each discipline and faculty have different needs and requirements, and Jewel is more than capable of multitasking to assist with each of their needs.
Jewel’s attitude has been top-notch, positive, and humble especially when dealing with different obstacles in the job. She definitely influences those around her in a positive way and encourages all to have a better attitude. Jewel’s presence in the science prep-lab have gone a long way in creating a great working environment for everyone associated with the science prep-lab. Jewel is a hard worker, cares about student learning, cares about her job and how to save resources and cut down prep times. She is highly organized and very efficient in her work, and that exemplifies the values and attitudes that make Northwest Vista College shine!
