Last week, the Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees approved two new programs at Northwest Vista College: Associate of Applied Science in Pharmacy Technology and an Associate of Applied Science in Customer Service/Sales Operations and related certificates. These two programs have been in the planning stages for months and were developed in response to the demands of our local job market.

[image 1]As we embark on another spring semester, be assured that the work you do everyday has a lifelong impact on students and creates opportunities for their success both in and outside the classroom. I was reminded of this as I read our latest President’s Report, which we publish annually as a resource to the community.
As we conclude our semester and close the 2015 calendar year, I want to thank all faculty, staff and students for the work we’ve accomplished this year.
[image 1]Reaching milestones often takes years of hard work and investment. From 1996 to 2012, college enrollment in Hispanic students ages 18 to 24 more than tripled by 240 percent in both two-and four-year schools, according to the Pew Research Center.
The site team from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges was more than impressed with the competence and quality of teaching and support services provided by NVC. And of course they were wowed by the beauty of our college.
[image 1]As an evidence-driven college, we take pride in learning from our data and continually improving in an effort to be a more effective college.
[image 1]Creating opportunities for success is the heart of Northwest Vista College’s mission statement. However we know that one of the prime ways we can help our students is through scholarships.
The countdown has begun. We have a little less than a month to plan for the on site review team from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges or also known as SACS-COC. This is the time to “put our best foot forward.”
